After the openings of Gloria and Circolo Popolare, it is with great pleasure to announce our arrival in Covent Garden. A neighbourhood filled with culture and crazy energy that just seemed ideal for the opening of our largest trattoria to date.


Ave Mario is 700 m2 of pure paradise, managed by our funky squadra of 120 Italians. Inspired by an idyllic day in Florence, a « Church » version 2.0, the 295 seats are spread over 3 spaces, and 2 gigantic terraces. Our Head Chef Gianluigi heads up the kitchen with a brand-spanking-new menu serving up our first ‘biga’ pizzas, Pasta Carbonara served in a 4kg pecorino wheel and the one and only Carpaccio di Manzo. Not forgetting dolci, where an airy chocolate mousse with oozy chocolate fondant base is waiting for you. It’s dangerous, I’m falling.


The perfect spot for a date with your lover, a lunch with your BFF or a family meal just as you like it. Ave Mario is open for lunch and dinner.


For a date or a meeting with a few friends, la squadra Ave Mario offers reservations for certain tables. Whilst there are a few spots saved just for walk-ins, for those who come to see us by chance. Bookings open at 9am, one month in advance of a date.

Fancy taking us over? We offer private hire of our spaces for 20+ guests. We do not accept requests less than 6 weeks prior to the event's date.

Why don’t you take reservations ?

We use amazing products that come directly from amazing producers located in Italy. We only serve fresh, 100% made-in-house food. And in order to stay in the spirit of the authentic Italian trattorias we love so much, we offer a menu that’s as affordable as possible. The reality is that latecomers and cancelled reservations represent an enormous cost for restaurants. In order to be able to offer quality products at affordable prices, we have to ensure that all our seats are filled. Either we accommodate a lot of people, or we make a lot of profit.

Plus, there’s advantages to not having to reserve 2 months in advance just to eat a pizza ! To put it simply : we understand that not taking reservations can be inconvenient for our diners, but we have to weigh this consideration against the fact that we’re trying to offer high value-for-money by squeezing our margins. To make things just a little bit easier, we’ve put in place a wait-list system whereby our hostess take your name and telephone number and call you when your table is ready.
